If the Lord had not been on our side when men attacked us, their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive.
The flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away.
Praise be to the Lord who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare has been broken and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

If Yahweh had not been on my side…
My, the list is long. If Yahweh had not been on my side, I would have been struck and killed by a car in kindergarten. (I wonder how many other close calls there have been in my life that I’m not even aware of.) If Yahweh had not been on my side, I would not have survived divorce and its aftermath. If Yahweh had not been on my side, I would not have experienced the emotional healing I have, I would not be where I am, have what I have, or be doing what I’m doing. Most important of all, if Yahweh had not been on my side, I would be spending eternity in hell instead of in heaven.
