Psalm 119 – Ayin

(Ayin is the sixteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet)

Help me to be able to say that I have done what is right, godly and fair. Don’t leave me to my oppressors. My biggest oppressor is myself. Don’t let me be overcome. Help me to be and stay centered in You.

Help me to be content. Don’t let the worldly depress me.

Help me to always look for Your salvation, the fulfillment of Your promises, Your presence.

Deal with me according to Your love and mercy – teach me Your word.

I am Your servant. Give me discernment that I may understand Your word, that I may do what is right, godly and fair, that I may rise above outside and inner influences, and keep centered in You, that I may be content, that I may see Your salvation, Your promises, Your presence.

It is time for You to act, Your word is being broken. Be merciful to me, for I have tried to do what is right, I have tried to stay centered, I have tried to be content, I have tried to see Your salvation, promises and presence.

Because I love Your word more than pure gold, and because I consider every word right, I hate every wrong path. Give me discernment to tell the difference between the right and the wrong path.

Psalm 119 – Samekh

(Samekh is the fifteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet)

I hate double-minded men – men with two sets of rules – one for religious purposes and one for secular.
But I love Your word.
God is my refuge (place of shelter) and my shield (protector).
I have put my hope on Your word.
Away from me, you evil-doers,
That I may keep the word of my God!
Sustain me according to Your word (give me the courage, strength and discipline to follow Your word) and I will live;
Do not let my hopes be dashed.
Uphold me with Your word and I will be delivered from the double-minded evil-doers.
I will always have regard for Your word.
You reject all who stray from Your word,
For their deceitfulness (double-mindedness) is in vain.
All the wicked of the earth You discard like dross (burnt up unusable gold),
Therefore I love Your word.
My flesh trembles in fear of You.
I stand in awe of Your word, humbly, respectfully.

As if I have double-vision, balance my eyes. Balance my mind. Balance my faith.

Psalm 119 – Nun

(Nun is the fourteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet)

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path – Your word shows me where to walk in this world.
I have made a promise and re-affirmed it, that I will follow the way Your word lights up.
I have suffered much; preserve my life O Lord according to Your word.
Accept O Lord the willing praise of my mouth and teach me Your word.
Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget Your word.
The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from Your word.
Your word is my heritage forever, Your word is the joy of my heart.
My heart is set on keeping Your word to the very end.

Psalm 119 – Mem

(Mem is the thirteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet)

Oh how I love Your word!
I meditate on it all day long.
Your word makes me wiser than my enemies,
For they are ever with me.
I have more insight than all my teachers,
For I meditate on Your word.
I have more understanding than the elders,
For I obey Your word.
I have kept my feet from every evil path
So that I might obey Your word.
I have not departed from Your word,
For You Yourself have taught me.
How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth.
I gain understanding from Your word;
Therefore I hate every wrong path.
