Psalm 95

Sing for joy
Shout aloud
Come before Him with thanksgiving
Extol Him with music and song
Make a joyful noise

The Lord is the great God
The Lord is the great King
The Lord is above all gods
The earth’s core is in God’s hands
The mountain peaks belong to God
God made the sea
God’s hands formed the dry land

Bow down and worship
Kneel before our Maker
He is our God
We are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. He cares for us as a shepherd cares for his sheep.

Today if you hear God’s voice, listen – or else you may spend forty years wandering in the desert, never reaching your goal even though it’s close and within reach.

Be righteous and God will light your way.
Have upright motives in your heart and you’ll have joy.
Praise God’s name.

Psalm 94

God take vengeance.  It belongs to You.  Shine God of vengeance.  Let everyone see Your glory.  Rise up where the earth can see You.  Pay the proud back – take them down a notch or two (or three).  Right now the wicked triumph and are jubilant, but not for long.

The arrogant speak wickedly, arrogantly.  “See what I did, what I can get away with.  I’m better than the widow, alien and fatherless.  God has no part here.”

Careful!  God created hearing, how can He not hear?  God created eyes, how can He not see?  God disciplines nations, how can He not punish you?  God knows how we think, how can He not know all things?  God knows how we think, how futile our plans are, how limited.

Blessed is he whom God disciplines, teaches.  He is granted relief until a pit is dug for the wicked.  God will not reject His own.  We are His inheritance, His future.  Judgment will be based on righteousness and the upright in heart will follow it.

Only God rises up in my defense, He stands up for me.  Unless God had helped me – I’d be dead.  His love supported me.  His consolation turned my anxiety into joy.

Even under a corrupt government, God is my fortress, rock and refuge.  The God of vengeance will repay the wicked, and destroy them.

Psalm 93

God reigns like a king, robed in majesty, armed in strength – royal and powerful.  The world and His plans are firmly established and can’t be moved.  It was established long ago – from eternity.

The seas sing praise to God.  God is mightier than the most powerful ocean wave.

God’s laws are firm and unbreakable.  Holiness is God’s house forever.  Purity and awe are in God house forever.  Holiness adorns – makes God beautiful.

Psalm 92

It is good:

To give thanks to God

To praise the Lord

To make music in God’s honor

To proclaim God’s love in the morning

To proclaim God’s faithfulness at night

To express gladness about God’s deeds

To sing for joy about God’s works

To marvel at how profound God’s thoughts are

To pity those who don’t understand

To rejoice that the evil enemies will perish

To flourish like a palm tree

To tell all that God is upright

To trust in the Rock
